Jun 04, 2020 Route Of The Olympian Trail Report

I was checking the trail out to determine if a touring bike could be used on the trial. Started from the east trailhead. For ten to eleven miles the trail is rough but passable with a touring bike either larger tires. I will be using 700 x 45 mm when my kids and I do this in a couple of weeks. After the first 10 to 11 miles the trail turns to finer crushed gravel that is well packed. I am assuming that this condition remains consistent to the pass where it connects to the Hiawatha trail into Wallace ID but I did not traverse the entire trail. My assumption is based on other reviews I have read. However, those reviews indicated the rougher sections only lasted about 4 miles which was not my experience. I will give an updated review in a couple of weeks when we have done the entire route.
