Description:
On June 6th and 7th my wife, two good friends, and I cleared the south most isolated two miles of the Domerie Peak trail. Because of this and the lack of traffic in recent times the conditions are prime.
The biggest issue were the dozens of down trees. Only one section requires a bigger saw and a temporary reroute was already established so we embraced that. For now.
But please please stick to the trail in the alpine meadow section. There are already multiple routes and widespread flora damage due to riders taking their own lines.
I found the damage was mostly from dirt bikers struggling to ride up the hill. There's now a relatively established straight climbing trail. I doubt anyone could stop riders from using it so let's just encourage the dirt bikers to only use just the ONE up trail and not make five different ones. Thanks for listening. Ride on!

Were you able to access the Southern trailhead by driving over the dam?
- + 3
That's gated. Only public way to drive to the southern trailhead is from Easton via the end of E Sparks Rd. It takes about 30 minutes, is a little bumpy, and you'll want to use Gaia or some mapping the first time.

@5chmaus: Thanks for these updates. I'm planning a route and am just curious: Is the dam passable by bike? Or is it closed to both bikes and cars?

@kellyburger: no problem! The dam last time I checked it out seemed pretty serious about no trespassing. I’d rather take my chances through the tumble creek neighbor to eventually exit on bullfrog rd.
