Description:
Mill Creek Road is a great gravel road. There were some loose rocky spots but that was to be expected in early September with not much recent rain. I didn't notice any pot holes on the way up but manage to hit quite a few on the way down. Mill Creek runs along the road for most of the way up although pretty well below the grade of the road. The road was clear and there was some traffic due from camping from the Labor Day weekend but nothing too concerning. All the drivers were courteous. I even had one pull over in one of the steeper sections at the top to let me pass. There appears to be a campground at Hicky Gap and a relatively new bridge at Rocky Flats. I actually road my cyclecross bike with 38c tires without any real issues. However a mountain bike would have made for a fun descent.
