Description:
This is a trail report from the SDMB volunteer work weekend held April 24th and 25th. 5 volunteers came from the Tucson and Phoenix areas. Work was initiated from the junction of Turkey Flat and Ladybug trail progressing toward the lower section of Ladybug that was previously cleared. The majority of the work consisted of clearing overgrown brush and vegetation and removing fallen trees small enough to be moved or sawed with hand tools. Sporadic patches of overgrown vegetation remain along Veach Ridge to the point of previous clearing 2.5 miles from lower trail head. The section of trail that remains to be brushed out has numerous technical switchbacks, features, and water bars obscured by the overgrowth making this section of trail un-rideable in parts. The tread remains primitive on the trail as a whole given low use. Use caution and ride smart if checking it out. We spent the entire weekend on this trail and saw no other users.
