Description:
As expected, snow (drifts up to ~4ft deep) required some snowy-hike-a-biking. I was glad to have gaitors. Snow began at approx 2150m elevation, just after Lepsoe. Lots of snow from there to the intersection with the Plewman trail. From there on only small patches here and there (but a few trees down, see below). If you wanna go suffer in the snow it's there. Best practice is probably to stay on the snow where the trail is buried. Don't get tempted to walk around the snow on the dry areas, would be hard on the alpine vegetation. Or just be sensible and wait for the trail to be cleared and snow free.
The north and south ends that have been cleared by the trail crew are excellent (thanks gang). Probably 2 more weeks before the entire trail is cleared and snow free? (Just a guess).
Tree report: Moved a bunch of small deadfall off the trail. There are 5 or 6 trees that will probably need some chainsaw action. One smallish old tree partially across the trail near Old Glory. One large tree across the trail between Kirkup and Old Glory. Three large trees down beside the ski hill just south of Gray. One tree down across the southern section of the trail on the ridge well south of Record Mtn (I think this section was already cleared, so I guess it's a new one down).
