Description:
Most trail systems in PA have a significant amount of rock and South Mountain Preserve is no different. I rode a combination of trails, so this report is beyond just the Bug Trail. It rained earlier this week and the entire trail was wet but not too bad. The trails have canopy coverage at this point in the season so most of the rocks were still very slippery. I walked a fair amount. The Bug Trail specifically has large rocks, a few switchbacks, and I walked a good bit of it. On the mountain, the trail signs are black, not red. But the trail is easy to follow, as the entire preserve is very well marked.
