Description:
I found a gate swung and locked on this road about a mile before the trailhead for South Fork Taneum Trail. Not sure if this is normal or out of the ordinary. Beyond the gate, there is evidence of a recent controlled burn along the road. This road goes beyond where it ends on the Trailforks map. I rode it to the top of the South Fork Taneum Trail providing an easier pedal to gain this ridge. Caltopo shows this road. I also crossed a branch of this logging road while pedaling along the Manastash Ridge Trail (#138
. While I didn't ride this branch, you can see it form the top of South Fork Taneum Trail and it looks like it gets pretty steep. Not sure if it's rideable, but it could be ridden to gain Manastash Ridge. The photo attached to this report shows approximately where the gate is across the road.
