Description:
SDMB Trail Work Report from April 10, 2023. Trail was string trimmed from the Stockton Pass Campground trail head up to about the 1.25 mile mark/ 6300ft in elevation. Corridor is much more open now that thick grass has been trimmed back. The tread is a little slippery with all of the cut grass in the trail. There's about .25 miles of grassy area left to be trimmed before the trail enters the oak forest. Overall lower shake is in better shape than last year. Many of the large loose rocks are gone. Mid Shake needs trail work which should happen this summer. Heads up that upper Shake may still have snow patches and possibly down trees in the forest. No work has been done on the trail since June 2022. Use caution and be prepared if trying to ride down from the top. If you're interested in helping please email [email protected]
