May 13, 2023 Horse Mountain Creek Trail Trail Report

Some trees to duck under or hop over but nothing to slow you down too much. This is a relatively easy way to the beach if you’re In the area and the trail is easy to follow. Probably be easier to hike in from Shelter Cove along the beach if the tide is out though. Poison oak and ticks are abundant. Avoiding the PO is easy enough except for the last half mile. The last quarter mile it’s pretty much unavoidable without pushing it aside. If you’re highly allergic wear a face cover, it gets that high. Otherwise you can pretty much get through it with some patience.
