This trail is not managed, maintained or sanctioned. Therefore, it's not considered in falling plans. It is what it is.

Mission Forestry made all three of the trails up there. They used to have a trail brochure for them back in the day. They're not in the greatest shape anymore but a few of us do what we can here and there. I don't think they're logging any of the trail but they did extend the lower road taking out a tiny bit of the bottom. Looks like the cutblock will be farther on.

@Rendragon: I don't think forestry made the trails.
Not sure who did, but Forestry has built a very small number of the trails around town. But they did map them somewhat a long time ago. Do you know the actual name of this trail? I just threw a random name on to put them on this map.

They aren't Sec56 and aren't under any maintenance agreement. Trails that are Sec56 get cleared after falling and signs put in place when logging effects them. I was letting you know why there are no signs indicating it's closed. Trail is unmanaged. If you'd like to take that on, that would help them stick around longer.

@b-roc: Huh, I was sure they'd made them but you're right, they could very well be old horse trails or something. The one not on the map at least is lined with logs and has a pretty hefty bridge and looks like someone professional made it.

The two trails never had names so far as I know but the upper trail ("Campy") was called the Hatzic Lookout Trail or Steelhead Lookout Trail.

And sorry, I guess my wording is a little vague -there's a sign at the bottom but not at the top. You'll hit the closed sign at the bottom and have to turn around and go back up. I figured the report would save someone a trip.

Not able to manage any trails, just do what I can here and there within my physical limits. I did brush out most of that third trail last year and someone else did the rest but it's frustrating how quickly it grows over.
