Description:
The upper half of the switchback climb west of South Fork CG is heavily damaged following the Bighorn Fire. Mass wasting has covered much of it in silt and debris, and erosion channels now cross the trail in many places. The trail has collapsed just on the west side the saddle, making for a very sketchy crossing. Beyond that the trail is ok. It burned but is in good shape from Devil's Chair to Devil's Punchbowl County Park.

This trail will take a lot more than a trail day to resurrect, haha. It's a solid couple miles of not-much-trail-there-anymore. It honestly needs a couple years for brush to grow back to help stabilize the slopes. This ride was 2 yrs ago so maybe that has somewhat happened. But it'll be a huge project to get it fully re-opened. If you're interested in doing work we have been working to open up access to Arrastre Canyon trail above Acton from the top, then we'll get to work brushing that trail open. Just send me a message with how best to contact you. Hoping to have another trail day there this fall sometime.
