Description:
UPDATE 8/18: Our crew has finished brushing the descent into Red Meadow! We worked up to the lowest switchback on the E face, and didn't see much brush above us. Views were socked in with smoke, but still worth it! We pulled out our equipment, and will be pivoting to working on a different section of this trail by the end of this summer.
7/28: FAMB Trail Crew has brushed the 1.7 miles closest to Red Meadow (North end). There is still a lot of brush above where we left off, but we got everything we walked past.
Forest Service has contracted a third party to clear the entire length of this trail, and we have been told they have finished, as of this week. MCC has also benched out some of the final section between the Hay Cr Tr and the Trailhead.
This trail is raw, requires route-finding, and is akin to an Alpine 7 ride.
