Sep 24, 2023 Porcupine-Ibex Trail Report

The trail was muddy in spots but would have dried out since the last rain Saturday. We had totally caked tires Saturday the first mile so ride Sunday it had improved substantially. We (Livingston Bike Club) cleared 6 downed logs on the Porcupine side up to the high point just under 8,000 feet. We also cleaned up some other saw work from others, logs that had been cut but not swamped and left on the uphill - sections would easily fall back into the trail. It’s clear to ride. The trail is a little washed out in one spot where there’s no where to put a downhill foot, there’s a big root ball to look out for and one tree across the trail around 4 miles but we didn’t cut with its complexity and being overhead.
