Fun K Trail Report - Ideal - Sep 30, 2023

The ski area (I'm guessing) had a heavy equipment operator "fix" the Fun K trail. They did clean up some trees along the road, but left a lot of good size (baseball) rocks in the trail. Yes, I understand that their view is for the upcoming x-country ski season, but even that should preclude leaving those size rocks in the trail when the snow cover is thin and one of those rocks could take a good gouge out of your skis. There also was one tree that fell across the trail after the "work" was done. We tried to pivot it out of the way, but didn't get it done. It can be ridden around carefully, but at least you don't need to carry your bike over the log. If I ride again, I'll try to remember the chainsaw. . .
