ebike Ride was good as usual, but the downed tree on Fun-K was still in place. We were able to duck-walk under the trunk, but I'll need to return with to re-enact the Echo Lake Trail chainsaw tree murders. Idealview

mtb The ski area (I'm guessing) had a heavy equipment operator "fix" the Fun K trail. They did clean up some trees along the road, but left a lot of good size (baseball) rocks in the trail. Yes, I understand that their view is for the upcoming x-country ski season, but even that should preclude leaving those size rocks in the trail when the snow cover is thin and one of those rocks could take a good gouge out of your skis. There also was one tree that fell across the trail after the "work" was done. We tried to pivot it out of the way, but didn't get it done. It can be ridden around carefully, but at least you don't need to carry your bike over the log. If I ride again, I'll try to remember the chainsaw. . . Idealview

mtb Echo Lake and Fun K trails to Discovery Basin Ski Area. All were in good shape and some of the downfall from earlier this season has been removed. We did encounter a roadblock created by a flock of Franklin's Grouse. We rode slowly through them and they flew/strutted a few yards off the road to allow us passage. A few other riders in the area.
