Description:
First portion (0 km to 7 km) of the Cottonwood Rail Trail opened on September 15, 2022. Completed Trail (Km 7 to 10.25) opened on September 30, 2023. First portion is double track, and bikeable...but soft, with two steep creek gullies. Km 7 to 10.25 is open for hiking and running, with upgrade to biking status to be completed by October, 2024. Winter snowshoeing and X-C Skiing possible, but creek crossings will be challenging. No grooming planned as yet!
