Trail is in fantastic shape starting from the switchbacks on the west side, up until about the Jim's Bike Hike intersection. Could honestly be considered a Blue until then because the trail is so smooth, no rocks, if it wasn't for the exposure and initial steepness. From Jim's BH to Jen's Star Pass is absolutely a full Black, it's all off-camber with huge chunky rocks, rock waterfalls, and wheel traps. Getting an awkward pedal strike could spell disaster here, ~200ft drop off the side.
