Description:
Trail conditions vary depending on location. First mile or two are merely overgrown. Conditions worsen approaching the shelter, with several sections with deep puddles and damaged boardwalk. After the shelter, conditions rapidly worsen, with the boardwalk in consistently bad condition, including loose boards, gaps between the boards, and even outright missing sections.

Beyond trail tread issues, there are also numerous clearance issues. Many trees are down across the trail, although only four present substantial obstacles. Overhanging branches and even trees growing from the trail are also quite common.

Overall, the trail is still mostly passable, but hikers need to work for it. Even well-waterproofed hiking boots can't guarantee dry feet. Tall rubber boots or even waders would not be out of place on the further reaches of the trail.
