Jun 28, 2024 Summit Trail (North) Trail Report

Checked the trail out a a number of access points and crossings. The trail bed is visible in many places but there is tons of debris on the trail and many downed trees. Other spots like where it ends at Hwy 190 have been impacted by logging/fuel reduction operations. It's pretty much impassable for bikes but could probably be hiked. Bring a saw or a rake and help clean it up. I did not check out the uppermost part of the trail - this was always one of the worst sections years ago due to thick forest. Hopefully the fire thinned that part out. Either way, downed trees will continue to be an issue for years.
