Description:
Between the equestrian trailhead at Smoky Mountain campground and where you cross the paved Park road, the trail is so overgrown with 8 foot bushes, you get scratched and hit in the face constantly. A machete would have been helpful. The section from the paved Park road to the Circle Creek Overlook was very enjoyable, switchbacks in and out of the juniper trees. Then, the Geology trail was cool, definitely had to rock hop a lot of logs. It was confusing how to get back to the overlook, signs to site 18 and Stripe Rock...however, you know the general direction, so it's fine.
