trail is good, but has 1 tree down across the trail (this is on an uphill component so you won't be going too fast), but does need cleared view

 Interestingly there was zero sign of closure on this trail Oct 4th when I was up there. They even still had the temporary trailhead map sitting out by the trail telling people to "start here". I will be back up there on Tuesday to inspect if the closure looks official yet.

 I saw a sign on the trail that said the closure was for owl nesting. It sounds to me like all the wildlife protection groups got to put their wish list in on this trail.

 So the trail is usable by hikers and MTBers for 3 months out of the year. Better than nothing I suppose.
