Description:
I reported seven trees at various points blocking the trail. Trail is very loose. Trail is also very narrow in spots where it is partially overgrown. It is very exposed now since the fire. Not fun for biking IMO. Hiking probably ok.

What a pity. I thought after Whiskeytown Park said it as reopened they would have at least did some restoration. Where do they spend all the here funds? Loads of staff little results

The NPS has done a lot with regards to restoration. I try to understand the "mountain" of work the NPS has with regards to recovering from the Carr Fire. I know when it comes to government bureaucracy, it always comes down to budget and man power, not to mention all work that has to be done just to get to where you can finally get boots on the ground. The Rich Gulch Trail alias Chimney is looking really good and fun. Brandy Creek Trail alias Ice Box is also good. Papoose Pass is good as well. Also on the east side of the park, Shasta Mine, Buck Hollow, Mule Mt. Pass and the Canal Trail are all in pretty good shape. Here is a good overview of what they have done over the past six years to restore the park. www.nps.gov/whis/learn/news/carrfire.htm
