Description:
Top third of the trail is in amazing shape and fun riding both up and down. Lower two thirds has been destroyed by a machine clearing it for an upcoming running race. The guy working on it said it will be smoothed out over the next few days but I have my doubts. Tread takes a while to bed down after a scrape like this. Watching him work, I realized I could have cleared all the rough spots in a day with a pair of loppers. A pass with a brusher would be good too. Guy said they have a manpower shortage so a machine is required. Having worked on trails most of my life, this is a BS solution. Quickest turnaround time, but a low quality and unattractive result. Having said all that, I’ll gladly come down (from Bend) next year and help clear it! Maybe bring a crew with me
