Description:
The climbing portion of this ride is good. Roads from Quilcene to Bon Jon Pass are smooth and well maintained. FS27 is paved for almost half the climb.
Descending from the pass back to Quilcene via Gold Creek road is a bit hairy. The road has potholes and washouts that I had to pick my way around. On my MTB I’d have pointed it downhill and taken my hands off the brakes. The gravel bike required being on the brakes almost constantly. The route is paved from Lords Lake to hwy 101 so you can bomb down that.
Not sure why the app recorded the climb but not the descent.
