Feb 28, 2025 Tanner Trail Trail Report

Steep but beautiful trail. Legs will fill like Jelly once you get down to the bottom. We made it down in 6 hours (stopped at Tanner Rapid didn't go to Tanner Beach). The first part of the trail had ice and snow, but we made it through with just walking poles. Trail is well marked and there is very little chance to miss the trail, but still possible especially during the first mile or two where the trail runs into the wash. Hike out is also tough as you are constantly hiking up. Took us 7 hours to hike out from Tanner Rapids.
