Description:
Closed for planned burn.
A fuel reduction burn will be ignited this week at Back Creek, Nine Acre Tack near Yackandandah. This work will impact access to the Purplexed trail section of the Indigo Epic mountain bike trail.
Once complete, this fuel reduction burn will help reduce the impact of future bushfires in the area.
The following track closures will be in place while the burn is carried out and until the area is deemed safe by Forest Fire Management Victoria firefighters:
• Indigo Epic Purplexed trail
• Northern Fire Trail between Number one road and Nine Acre Track
• Nine Acre Track between Northern Fire Trail and Stringer Ridge Road
• Stringer Ridge Track between Number 1 Road and Nine Acre Track
• No.1 Rd. between Northern Fire Trail and Stringer Ridge Track
@Indigo Shire Council will reroute Yack Tracks Purple Loop riders and Indigo Epic Riders onto Number one Road at the intersection of Highway to Hill and Number One Road away from the Indigo Epic - Purplexed trail. Riders will bypass the Indigo Epic Purplexed trail and the planned burn area, turning right onto Northern Firetrail then rejoining the EPIC on Hurley Burley.
Red Loop riders will continue on Purplexed past the intersection with Number One Road and stay on the Red Loop Track passing on the far side of the ridge from the planned burn.

The burn is complete....we are waiting for DEECA to declare the area safe. Hopefully before Easter. The detour is relatively short though, and doesn't detract too much from the overall Epic experience.
