Description:
Outer Loop from the parking lot headed clockwise up to the inner loop trail jct is fairly clear. Beyond that both on the outer loop and inner loop trails as of June 29 2025 need down trees cleared. It's a yearly maintenance need given the burn scar.
Hired crews should be logging out Grant Hill in July/Aug 2025. Keep in mind that no chain saws, only cross cut saws, are allowed to cut down trees during Mexican spotted owl nest season from March 1st to Sept 1st making it very challenging for volunteer or paid crews to clear out trails with multiple down trees. They have to have cross cut saws to quietly clear the trail.
