Description:
Deception Pass Trail to Marmot, Jade and Pea Soup Lakes.
Trail conditions are good to Marmot. Sections of the trail have thick vegetation but are easily navigable. Mosquito’s are BAD!
The trail is hard to follow around Marmot lake when trying to connect to Jade lake. Take your time and you’ll find your way.
Trail conditions are poor going around Jade lake to connect to Pea Soup lake. Once you make it to the snowfield it’s an easy hike. It’s a bit slick but you can kick steps to the top without the need for crampons etc.
Marmot lake was relatively warm (great swim).
Jade lake was a freaking ice tub.
I wouldn’t suggest dropping down to Pea Soup lake. It’s a long drop. Enjoy the great view when you top out over the saddle.
