Description:
Such a fun shuttle ride!

Getting there: the forest service road is labeled 703 on the map but there’s a big plywood sign nailed to the lost trail lodge directing you to FS 801, follow that arrow to the left through the maintenance yard.

This trail has a little big of everything as any backcountry trail does. Very narrow single track at times, some overgrown sections, loose sand/gravel on both descents and ascents (mainly crossing meadows)- at least in July-, moderate tech but in short doses. Most miles are in full sun. Some forested sections border on flowy but you never know what’s around the corner. The switch backs at the end are pretty smooth - not many rocks or roots on that section.

There were only two large zero downed trees blocking the trail, at least this time.
