Description:
NICA Race Loop Inspection 8/4/25
The race loop tread is fully rideable. No down trees or major tread issues to report. Mostly Vegetation. It appears priority was given to the race loop on the last mowing. It may have been a few weeks ago. There are spotty places where the veg is growing fast or wasn't mowed and should be fully mowed/trimmed again before the race. Specific spots noted with photos and GPS pins on the map.
Volunteer Trail Day planned 9/13.
Notes:
After you climb the tubing hill and exit to the right and cross onto onto the road. There’s a transition spot that needs mowed.
At the arch. The grass is about a foot and a half tall.
Vegetation at the top of "Flying Saucer" is approximately 1 foot tall. Appears to have been mowed recently, but it should be mowed again before the race.
“Wagon Wheel” was the most overgrown. Vegetation is about 1 foot to one and a half feet tall.
Needs to be mowed/trimmed before the race. 3 Photos.
"Dusky Grouse": Minor vegetation 6 to 8 inches tall
"Chutes and Ladders": vegetation is 2 to 3 feet tall down slope after Hub O. Trail is still wide and passable, but it would be good to trim this section.
Sunny section of "Harvest Trail" has tall vegetation upslope. 1 to 2 feet.
