Description:
This is for the Suntop trail (I don't know why TF had it as Unknown). The single track on the way up from the summit parking lot was a huge grind as always but it is rutted from moto use for a large part of it. It was wet and felt almost "greasy"...filled up your tire treads with cloggy wet dirt. We branched off just after we got out of the deep woods to hike up to the "money shot" view (the former top of the trail before the reroute 12 or so years ago). Well worth the effort on the old overgrown boot path. The view did not disappoint! From there down the trail was a blast but it was a little too wet and some of it was rutted from the motto use. Once you crossed the road the moto degradation was more troublesome as the switchbacks were filled with duff/loose fluffy dirt and also a fair amount of larger rocks thrown into the singletrack. Don't get me wrong though we (three of us) were still glad we road this epic ride!
