Description:
The trail from Loon to Buck Island has been improved significantly by SMUD in 2017 and 2018. A 1.2 mile section has been completely re-routed and much of the old access road part of the trail has been fixed to make the trail tread better (drainage improvements, large granite cobbles removed, and narrowed to make it more trail-like and less road-like). Riders who rode it before should check out the work to see the difference. It is a much more enjoyable ride.
