It is likely closed as the Red Barn trail next to the Beaver Marsh is closed as it was too close to critical habitat and are allowing natural reclamation of the area. This trail otherwise does not connect to anything, so has likely been closed as well.

I think Easy 8 is still open, but like you said it goes nowhere and the county put signage up well before the actual closure as people usually start at Easy 8 or Temple Pond with the intention looping through Red Barn.
County has gotten much better over the years at keeping their online map updated with trails changes.

At the time the trail was closed, it was flooded near the marsh, but Red Barn drifted onto private property over the years and when the county looked at fixing the trail permanently by relocating it onto public land, they realized it would have to go through wetlands/critical areas which takes years of federal permitting which they don't have the resources for. That said, I'm not the land manager, and this is just my understanding of why it was closed and what prevents reopening.
