The trail is passable but some areas where trees were cut out need to be widened and branches cleared, also there are two locations (see photos)... view

Hi - I attempted to ride yesterday, 3/19, from White Pines going west on ART. Got about 2.1 miles in or so only because so much had already been cleared and found myself carrying my bike over tree after tree for longer than I should have with no end to fallen trees in sight. Gave up and returned. Thank you all who clear these trials and all who report on conditions as I am just a visitor and greatly depend on good information to determine my rides. I'm no spring chicken any longer and end up doing hike a bike a lot more than I'd like.

Appreciate the report Byron. We have multiple volunteers and the USFS clearing trees as quickly as possible. I walked on ART 00 - 03 yesterday, and it was clear to as far as post 03 now, but there's many more trees down that we're aware of between 04-08. Your best bet is to check Trailforks before making a ride plan. For example, this report you've commented to is an Amber alert notifying trail users that there are a lot of downed trees all along ART 02-05. If you go here on Trailforks, you can see the status of all the ART trails you're interested in riding so you have the best experience possible within our current recovery conditions: www.trailforks.com/region/arnold-rim-trail-system-52118/reports

@newmediasoup: thanks for the suggestions. I am new to using Trailforks and not familiar with the ART network of trails. I’ve seen all the hard work being done and appreciate all that they do. I Hope to come back and visit again soon.

Thanks

Who knows how many more there are past the 500 feet in we cleared, but it's a process!

@jimoc203: I thought you had said that, but I didn't see the reports on those sections as being Amber. We're making progress!!

Removed 7 of them, but it appears to just keep going the further you get into the forest.
