Description:
Lower Arcadia is free of down trees as of May 16, 2026. The Oct 2025 rain event related to Pacific hurricane remnant seemed to put a lot of water on this trail. The middle section of trail in the burn scar with thick furns has a lot of loose rocks in the trail. It's a fast section so keep a balanced stance and go easy on the brakes.
Vegetation encroachment will increase exponentially during late May/early June.. This trail is maintained regularly but see's light use. That combined with east facing aspect with opportunistic post fire vegetation means this trail can seem like no one uses it or takes care of it in between maintenance.
Trail fairies will the overgrowth and get those rocks out in the coming weeks but it's in the exact middle of the trail with miles of hiking and thousands of feet of elevation gain/loss to accces.
The lower 1/3rd of the trail is currently ripping with some improvements to drainages and tight corners that previously were difficult to navigate and did not shed water at the proper locations. Volunteers spent 4 hours on those corners on May 16th.
