Jun 20, 2026 Backbone Trail - Will Rogers to Temescal Ridge Trail Report

I came down it from the HUB. As a reminder, this was the premier trail to go down and now it's overgrown in parts but it's still a great ride overall. There are sections with tall grass and others with ruts but it's still the Backbone. You can still see the trail through the grass and ride the trail ruts just fine. (Just don't wear shorts) At the bottom, I walked down the trail to Murphy Ranch. That section was rough but I'm going again soon and will ride thru to Will Rogers. The biggest issue was no one has been on it and grass is tall. I couple people with shovels could easily fill the ruts down that horse trial to murphy. I just might do that and add a jump or 2.
