Franklin Trail Trail Report - Ideal - Sep 25, 2026

Trail is very nicely cleared of brush. Rode up in a low gear to conserve energy because the climb is unrelenting in steepness. The fireroad part is also very steep with short bits of downhill mixed in. I made it to the sharp right turn at the bottom of the newly reworked Upper Franklin Trail and walked up the trail a ways to look at it. It remained very steep as far as I could see. I turned around and went down. I will return to attempt the full climb on another day as it was very hot up there today.
