Description:
Herman Creek conditions 10/2/26 — two heads-ups:
1. Herman Creek Cutoff is gone. Completely unfindable — wiped out by the 2024 Whiskey Creek fire damage. Don't plan a loop on it; I extended my out-and-back toward Tomlike Mountain instead.
2. Herman Creek main trail from Whiskey Creek to Noble Camp is very rough right now: dozens of blowdowns, a few genuinely tough to get over/around, and about a quarter mile marked by flagging tape only. Fine for patient daytime hikers, but slow — don't count on making time.
Water: plentiful. All the named creeks are running — at least 5 good sources between Whiskey Creek and Noble Camp.
