Description:
This is not permanently closed so that is wrong.
And it is incorrectly named - it is called the Nationals Downhill (that is the name Akld Council gave it)

Yup, so it is temporarily closed, not permanently closed but whatever...

I do find that information from Rangers on the ground can often differ to what you can get from the council's own "official" website. Their website is notorious for being vastly out of date - trying to get correct information through their system is like getting blood from a stone.

So FYI they are looking to reopen this track once they have satisfied a few requirements around Kauri Dieback.

But I can tell you for sure (as the original builder of this track) that it is NOT called "Secondary School's downhill" which I guess was my main point.

As per the photo in the previous report and the fact that the track does not appear on the Auckland Council map of open tracks leaving this as closed. See www.aucklandcouncil.govt.nz/environment/plants-animals/pests-weeds/Documents/hunua-ranges-open-tracks-map.pdf
