Gooseberry Mesa Parking and Restrooms Poi Report - Variable - Dec 6, 2016

The road into Gooseberry Mesa off of Highway 59 currently has 3 major puddles. The first two are navigable by drive arounds to the East side of the road. At slow speeds a simple car should be able to clear them. The last puddle does not have a drive around. Please resist the urge to plow through the trees and shrubs on the East side as others have done. THIS IS NOT A DRIVE AROUND! A simple car could currently drive it at slow speed because it has been packed down by high clearance vehicles. If the area gets any rain at all, it will not be passable. Park your vehicle at the cattle guard turnoff from the Scenic Byway and ride your bike the 4 miles to the main Goose trail head.
