Please the message below from the FC regarding the movement of machinery on the fire roads (some of which are bridleways) on Saturdays...
Dear All,
We wish to let you know that we've agreed with our harvesting contractors working in Cockercombe that they can extract timber (not fell) on Saturdays, enabling them to complete the current phase of works. This means that some machinery (not the harvester) will be working amongst the crop within the closed areas of the forest as well as driving along forest roads.
This arrangement isn't likely to be a long standing arrangement and we shall keep you informed.
