Trail Batsto Penn Branch Trail (Orange)
First time riding in this area, a very impressively Jorba built and maintained trail of well drained packed sand. Not at all technical or much elevation change but non-stop turns for 18 miles through a really remote beautiful landscape. The fun was maintaining as fast a pace as possible through the curves. Would love to repeat with a light snow cover.

All clear on 10/31/21. First time on Orange loop in some time. Rode it CCW, think it was more enjoyable this way.

Lots of trees and branches down. Be prepared to hike around several down trees that are blocking the trail.

Rode Batsto for the first time yesterday. Despite a lot of rain this past week, conditions were perfect.
Some sections were the tightest singletrack I have ever ridden. If you are riding really wide bars, it will be an issue.
Due to lack of elevation, soft ground (sandy soil and pine needles) and nothing to pump, you are constantly pedaling.
It is a great spot for:
taking beginner riders
riding when everything else is too muddy
winter base miles
Overall, I had a lot of fun. It is hard to imagine it getting too wet to ride here. I grew up riding motorcycles in South Jersey; it reminded me of that, so I may be a little bias.
