The Firebrick Lake Trail System winds through nearly 300 acres of forested hills surrounding the historic Firebrick Family Recreation Park in Olive Hill, Kentucky. These multi‑use paths offer a mix of lakeside walking, wooded singletrack, gentle ridge climbs, and quiet backcountry loops suitable for horseback riding, hikers, trail runners, and mountain bikers. Most routes begin near the main trailhead on Ranch Road, where visitors can access a growing network of interconnected trails built and maintained by Olive Hill Trail Town volunteers. The terrain varies from smooth, family‑friendly sections to more rugged stretches with roots, rocks, and seasonal creek crossings. Wildlife sightings are common, and the shaded canopy keeps the trails comfortable through much of the year. Highlights include: Lakeside views of the reservoir; Rolling ridge lines with overlooks of surrounding hills; Quiet forest corridors ideal for birdwatching and nature walks; Multi‑use access for hikers, runners, and mountain bikers, and horseback riding. Ongoing improvements such as bridge installations, brush clearing, and new mountain bike trails.
