If you are climbing up the Cleator Road, and intend to link this up to get up to Double Black, ride the Fragrance Lake loop, and avoid the full Two Dollar- it will climb up and along a cliff with many hiking sections, and waste your time. It was cool to see- kind of an adventure- but I wouldn’t do it again. If have time constraints, better to pedal up from the lost lake parking lot and just be done with it.

I tried to ride it but there’s a lot of downed trees and the initial approach is far more Advanced than intermediate

This area is hiking trails. Of all the trails we rode here, this was the only one that felt like an mtb trail. But it's short. Not worth the boring riding on the hiking trails.

Why is this marked as a mountain bike trail? Wasted my hole afternoon. Thanks.

Were you climbing? It is a climb trail and will take about 25 min to reach the lake. As far as down, I see quite a few CX bikes on it.

Apparently roots have been removed today. This trail is a local favorite specifically because of the technical roots and rocks. Do not alter the trail simply because you can not clean each feature! Go back uphill and practice, then practice some more instead of changing a perfectly good technical xc trail.

Trail Two Dollar
The section by Fragrance Lake is silly- you can just take the lake loop to bypass and the rest of 2 Dollar is wide buffed cross country trail. Rolling with sporadic climbs peppered in. The highlights include views of the lake, a big waterfall you pass, and coastal views popping out. Not the funnest trail, but a decent fitness ride for people who wanna avoid technical trail and just enjoy the day. Watch for hikers please. If you do check out the end segment by fragrance lake, make sure you trust your brakes and don’t get in over you head. I encounter plenty of big trees down across the trail that would suck to hit.

After the initial terrain, which for an intermediate rider was near-unrideable, I found the route to be very enjoyable.

Route is just a "trail" (mainly double track/fire roads) that circumnavigates all the good trails. Thought we could catch some of trails listed and DESCEND them but alas the connections were not to be. Lesson learned for next trip.

Don’t let the blue rating fool you. This is mostly a fire road

If you are just looking for a way back North to Cleater rd, otherwise I wouldn't bother. Feels more like a hiking trail than biking.

Signage in the area calls this the Huckleberry Trail. Not shown on the Trailforks map as of 2/2018, but it continues East of Hemlock Trail for 0.8mi.
