The cli-machx was built in 2005 and is sited in the Dyfi forest; home of the howies Dyfi Enduro.

It's a 15km round trip, with 9km of built single track with compressions and whoops, rock slab drop offs and some beautiful flowing turns.

The last descent is one of the longest in Wales and features rocky jumps; watch out for the 'eye of the needle' a huge jump with a narrow landing between two trees on the other side.

The finale is a sequence of eight huge berms following quickly after each other. Hit them high enough and fast enough and they ride really well, but don't look down

There's also plenty of informal free-riding in the forest, but it isn't waymarked, so take a map or get a local guide. The Losin Lush shop in Machynlleth has maps of specific recommended routes in the Dyfi, and cross-country routes in the area.

There are no trail head facilities unfortunately, but there are 2 excellent pubs vey nearby, both of which rely on passing trade, so please pop in for a pint or some food if you can.

Just a 200 metres from the ClimachX is the Dwynant pub. They have excellent beer and occasional food. Details here - http://www.tafarndwynant.co.uk

Or Just a mile up the road in Corris is The Slaters Arms. A lovely bike friendly pub with regular pub grub and fantastic beer. Details here - http://www.theslatersarms.com/

If you like spending the entire time riding uphill for what seems like a small amount of downhill in comparison, this is the place for you!
I’d honestly just go to Dyfi BP, especially if you like your pedals and ankles.

Agree with ‘Where’s my ball’ some extremely boggy pools near final descent so if it looks muddy ahead it is! Glorious Sun after last few days of rain so some run-off streams with collected puddles so keep the Winter / wet tyres on, add mudguards & even some wet weather gear or you’ll look like the Mud Yeti by the end!
Overall about 2/5: a LOT of roads up for little fun & final ⅓ descent is I’d say a Black Run so keep yer fingers on the brakes and watch those sharp rocks & vertiginous edges. Had more fun elsewhere but ticked this off the bucket MTB-list.

Great section, little climb to start then flat out fun with a few kickers to grab some air.
