The cli-machx was built in 2005 and is sited in the Dyfi forest; now looked after by Beicio Mynydd Dyfi MTB

It's a 15km round trip, with 9km of built single track with compressions and whoops, rock slab drop offs and some beautiful flowing turns.

The last descent is one of the longest in Wales and features rocky jumps, berms and drops as it traverses above the valley

The finale is a sequence of eight huge berms following quickly after each other. Hit them high enough and fast enough and they ride really well, but don't look down

There's also plenty of informal free-riding in the forest, but it isn't waymarked, so take a map or get a local guide (Rikki Barratt MTB, Bike Corris or Wheelism)

There are no trail head facilities unfortunately, but there are 2 excellent pubs and cafe vey nearby, both of which rely on passing trade, so please pop in for a pint or some food if you can.

Just a 200 metres from the ClimachX is the Dwynant pub. They have excellent beer and occasional food. Details here - http://www.tafarndwynant.co.uk

Just a mile up the road in Corris is The Slaters Arms. A lovely bike friendly pub with regular pub grub and fantastic beer. Details here - http://www.theslatersarms.com/

Also in Corris is Idris Stores, a hugely popular and friendly cafe/shop
