This is one of the easier beginner loops from Galbraith Gap lot, but is does spend a great portion of time on the road for the climbing part. From the lot head up Bear Meadows Rd (tar), take the 1st right, Laurel Run Rd and you begin the slow climb for approx 2.75 miles past the Bald Knob trail and the gate to Lower Trail and Shingletown Gap Trail. When you have almost reach the to the road will make a lefthand hairpin, you want to go straight around the gate. Go down this double track for 0.4 mile then you will see a trail crossing it. Unfortunately the first 20 yds are not beginner friendly, take the right hand branch (Sand Spring Trail), follow this down until you meet Shingletown Gap Trail. Make a right and begin the slow climb back upto the gate you passed on the way up on Laurel Run Rd. Make a left on Laurel Run Rd and follow the road all the way back or if you are up for a little more walking you can make the right on to Three Bridges trail when you come to the 90 degree left hand bend on Laurel Run Rd. Follow the around and within 75 yds you will encounter another rock garden, walk through it. Then you can ride or walk across the 3 bridges. The trail then winds along for another 150-200 yds where you will encounter another short rock garden that ends where Three Bridges Trail and Spruce Gap intersect. Keep going down around the sharp right bend and then immediately left on Lonberger Path, this will lead you down the "yellow brick road" back to Laurel Run Rd. Again here you can make a right and follow the roads back or left across the road bridge and immediately right down Galbrith Gap trail, where the trail meet the tar road follow it back to the car park

Sometimes it's about what not to do. This is the 2016 submission to the Shoot The Trails film contest from Transition bikes that took first place.
