WARNING - While the Sproatt alpine network is comprised of blue rated trails, the effort and exertion required to successfully and safely complete the loop rides definitely lands on the more difficult side of the spectrum. Sproatt may seem close to civilization, but this ride is a true backcountry experience and needs to be treated with the respect it deserves. Riders should treat this endeavour as any other remote ride and come well prepared for any and all eventualities. In addition to the effort required to get to the start of Into the Mystic, this route represents the shortest return loop on Into the Mystic, On The Rocks, Lord of the Squirrels and is ~20km of distance plus ~1400m of climbing in a high alpine, exposed environment.

Riders and groups should be prepared with sufficient water, food, spare parts for repairs and a well stocked first aid kit including a head lamp. A spare jersey and/or gloves and jacket should also be a part of your kit for fast changing alpine weather which can find you locked into fog and rain very quickly.

Riders must ride accordingly and well within their limits as this is a remote area with limited access for rescue. Ride with a trusted group, take your time not chances, this will ensure you make it back to the bottom in one piece.

Across the valley from Whistler Mountain and the famous Bike Park, a new riding experience has been taking shape and there’s no lifts in sight....

Into the Mystic

Mystic open as up/down to closure AT ~1600M, still 1-2m of snow in the alpine/On The Rocks, please respect ALL CLOSURES! This includes the still under construction connector between Mystic and lower LOTS which is unfortunately being poached by a lot of people. Trail builders are currently on site 7 days a week and camping. They will see you poaching, they'll probably put you to work lugging rocks and dirt to atone for your inability to respect closures. Poaching these closures threatens the long term sustainability of these trails, they need to FULLY dry out before riders use them. If you're not respecting these closures, you're making a lot more work for our trail crews and diverting our resources away from other projects. reporter

LOTS is open as up and down to ~1600m, signage and closure above this. There is still several feet of snow in the meadows and by the lake. The trail crew buffed and patched to 1600m and will continue their way up the trail. Please respect this closure as the saturated ground is susceptible to damage at the higher elevations. WORCA trail crew will be reassessing and moving the closure on a weekly basis depending on conditions. Please be patient and continue to respect ALL CLOSURES both here and on Into the Mystic to help us protect this trail.
