Mud Lake is a great beginner area for new riders. The trails are wide, fairly smooth, no exposure and each loop is about a mile long. And as an added bonus, the trails wind through a pine forest around a scenic pond. In July, this is a great area for columbine flowers.
The gpx route starts at the parking lot and makes a figure 8 but feel free to loop to your heart's content. If you are looking for more advanced mileage, take a right on Caribou Ranch Link and head up Chickadee and down Sherwood for tight, fast, flowy fun.
