The Mudpool Loop starts from the Waipa MTB Carpark by Secret Spot Hot Tubs. It is a short family friendly walk that takes you past the bubbling mudpool Te Pikitanga ki Whangapipiro and through two stunning groves of redwood trees.
Use the Flood Diversion trail if there’s been heavy rain.

Mudpool Loop is a 1 mile popular easy route located near Rotorua. This hike primary route can be used both directions and has a easy overall physical rating. This route includes 2 trails. This route climbs 134 ft with a max elevation of 1,160 ft then descends -140 ft.
