The Intermediate Short Loop is a well-balanced 5-mile circuit that packs a lively mix of rolling terrain and quick, punchy elevation changes into a ride taking just over an hour. Sitting at a base elevation around 720 to 735 feet, the route delivers a balanced effort split almost evenly between climbing, descending, and fast-rolling flats, featuring 630 feet of total vertical gain matched by 627 feet of descent. Riders should be prepared for steep, short pitches where grades ramp up to 31.4% on the climbs and drop to -29.8% on the downhills, demanding quick shifts and confident bike handling. Easily accessed via the Laurel Meadow trailhead parking area off Long Meadow Road, this loop is perfect for intermediate riders looking for a brisk, high-yield workout or a fast feature-packed spin through the network.
